“I use holistic methodologies to promote good health and wellness.”

We live in a culture which fosters treating illness rather than promoting wellness. The eastern philosophy is to maintain our good health & wellness rather than to wait for disease to occur. I encourage this lifestyle of health by providing an ancient body work steeped in Maya tradition, an Asian massage called AMMA and by teaching about body, mind & spirit integration in the form of eating properly, meditation, breathwork & daily practices. You will be assisted in choosing a treatment or exercise program that fits into your busy life.

Imagine…how would your life be different if your mother, sisters, aunts or grandmothers created a celebration surrounding your first menses/bleeding time?  How would your life be different had you been taught about your moon cycle and your relationship with the moons’ effect on your menstrual cycle, your moods and your intuition?  What if you had been taught about the mysteries and power of being a woman rather than dreading your monthly cycle?

As foreign as these ideas seem, I have been studying and teaching the same inquiries for over 30 years and I invite you to embrace the beauty of being a woman and to re-connect to your feminie self.

On my own journey I too disconnected from what was below my belly button unless I became pregnant or welcomed a monthly “friends” arrival.  It was a natural rhythmic dance, yes, but I did not acknowledge the power and wisdom that the blood held.  As a nurse practitioner I championed womens’ wellness but still something was missing.  It wasn’t until the late 80’s while studying Native American spirituality that I learned about moon lodges where the bleeding women would go to rest and dream while the men waited to learn what visions they might have. The phrase “she who bleeds and does not die” arose from the power that was placed on a woman and their significant contribution to society.

In the mid 1990’s as I was hovering through peri-menopause, I met and started studying with Rosita Arvigo who taught me a traditional therapy based on Maya philosophy.  This put all the pieces together.  This was the ah-ha moment that was to open up my journey as a healer and lead me to stepping out of the Alopathic box and into a more natural approach to maintaining wellness.

As they say: “if you build it they will come” and they have.  Women in physical, emotional and spiritual pain.  Women hating their bodies for what they release every month and not being able to get through days without being in pain or discomfort. Women with such severe fertility challenges and women with stories of abuse, neglect and abandonment that have now manifested in physical issues.

Through a simple technique, natural therapies and taking time to listen in a safe environment, women are being empowered to heal themselves.

Ixchel, Ancient Maya Goddess of Fertility, Medicine and Plants

Ixchel is the ancient Maya goddess of fertility, medicine and plants. Ix means goddess of the feminine. Chel means rainbow or light. In other words, she is the: Lady of the Rainbow, Goddess of the Rainbow and Lady of Sacred Light. She is always associated with bodies of water, lakes, streams, rivers and creeks. Anywhere you would be likely to see a rainbow.

Maya Moon Goddess

As the Maya moon goddess, sometimes called “Lady Rainbow”, she is often pictured as a serpent crone wearing a skirt and crossbones. She carries an upside-down vessel in her hands which represents the nourishing gift of water, our most essential life giving element. She wears a serpent on her head . The snake, has always been associated with medicine or healing powers. As the Goddess of Medicine the snake also symbolizes intuitive forces.

Goddess of Fertility and Motherhood

She is the goddess of fertility, motherhood , the moon and menstrual cycle. She is mother of all. She holds a rabbit in her hand as a symbol of fertility while sitting in the crescent moon.

As the goddess of fertility and childbirth she is responsible for the formation of the baby in the womb and determines the sex of the child.

As the Mother: She is the goddess of motherhood, the moon and menstrual cycle.

About Me

I am a nurse practitioner with over 40 years of experience taking care of the adult population. Since 1997 I learned from my mentor Rosita Arvigo how valuable “self care” is as part of a healing practice. Since then I have used the Arvigo® Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy in my practice of holistic therapies in New York.  I am a certified practitioner as well as an advanced teacher teaching all of the advanced classes.

I have also studied traditional Chinese Medicine in the form of AMMA Therapy®, Mantra therapy, yoga and Tai Chi. I offer one-on-one therapy to assist with posture, movement, breath work or mantra.

I wish for all my clients to find a place to rest and release fears, anxieties, energetic stagnations and to heal any physical, emotional or spiritual condition that is present and preventing them from being the best they can be and feel.
